Privacy Policy

TrimTube is a browser extension built for privacy. It does not collect, transmit, or monetize any user data. Your browsing activity stays entirely on your device.

TrimTube collects no personal data. Specifically:

• No browsing history is recorded or transmitted
• No analytics or tracking scripts are included
• No cookies are set by the extension
• No data is sent to external servers
• No user accounts or sign-ups are required

TrimTube stores your feature toggle preferences using Chrome's built-in sync storage API (chrome.storage.sync). This data includes only your on/off preference for each feature toggle. The data is synced across your Chrome instances if you are signed into Chrome, and is never accessible to TrimTube or any third party.

If sync storage is unavailable, TrimTube falls back to local storage (chrome.storage.local), which never leaves your device.

TrimTube requests the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab - Required to inject CSS rules into the active YouTube tab to hide or modify UI elements.
• storage - Required to save and retrieve your feature preferences locally.
• Host permission (youtube.com) - Required to run the content script on YouTube pages for applying your chosen feature rules.

No other permissions are requested. TrimTube cannot read your passwords, access other websites, or modify any data outside YouTube.

TrimTube does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or external APIs. The extension operates entirely client-side within your browser.

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Since TrimTube does not collect any data, significant changes to this policy are unlikely.
